Summer of 2007 has been an experience for us at Fuzzot Place. Mrs. Agnes King (of present day Elgin) donated her husband's grandparents’ home place. We are very grateful to Mrs. King and her family for their contribution to our furniture builders. We have recognized this project as "Alabama's Finest" primo bead board load. Fortunately, one of the apprentices at Fuzzot Place decided to add a twist to his experience. Neal Rogers is Social Science Secondary Education major at the University of North Alabama. He decided to take one summer class that focused on Historical research and Histiography. As he was tearing on the house one day, he came up with a research topic for the summer course. "I decided to write my paper on the Southern Pine Industry (1890-1940) and the contributions this industry played in the Southern economy; I wanted to understand when, where, and why the wood in these old homes are so important to my future as a student." The topic of the paper made it easier and more beneficial to his furniture building, wood findings, and academic future in the teaching profession. The King Town Project and Mrs. King have been an excellent primary source for all of us at Fuzzot Furniture. Thanks again for all the help Mrs. King!
